RDP 148 Displays NAV NET VX2 Startup screen then goes blank

Previously this display worked fine. Today, on power up, the normal "startup" screen shows bright and clear for about 10 seconds. Then the screen just goes blank. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

I've unplugged and re-plugged the cords, so they're all exactly like they always were.
 
It could be that someone left the unit in NIGHT mode last time it was used and you can't see it now in the day time. Try waiting a few minutes after power up; push the roto-knob, then hit the power button one time quickly and immediately turn the knob to the right. If this doesn't brighten the unit, there might be another issue. Try removing the chart card and all the cables but the power cable and see if it works. If that doesn't work, you can try a factory reset (that clears everything including any points). This can be done by holding CLEAR during power up until it asks what LANGUAGE you want.
