Potential interference

In my refit, I have three products all competing for top position on the radar arch. The radar scanner, the sat compass, and a FLIR camera.

All need a 360 degree view, and the sat compass needs an unobstructed view of the sky.

I'm concerned that if I have a horizontal D mounting made for the Sat compass and FLIR to be above the scanner, there will be interference from pulses bouncing off the side struts (1 1/2" stainless tube, for example) of the D.

Any ideas or knowledge on this?

Every boat is different so it is best to work with you local dealer on mounting and arrangement of your antennas. Many customers who use tubes around the radar scanner will run them up the back (Stern). This way if there are any radar reflections, you can just turn “on” the sector blanking feature of the radar and blank out transmitting into that small sector.
