RDP-139 connected to RPU-015 - maps?

Fly bridge has RDP-139 with sn 4312-2038. Firmware seems to be 2.2 (or is it 12.2?).This is connected using ethernet to RPU-015.

The RDP-139 uses a strange memory card which I don't have.

The RPU-015 has a current c-map SD card and I wonder if the fly bridge unit can get the map data through network. Right now I get a white screen when chart is used on it. Other functions like depth and radar work fine.

Does the RDP-139 need any upgrade? Does it need it's own maps?

GeorgeZ,

If you could find out what are the current software versions for both the RDP139 and the RPU015, to determine if they are loaded separate Navionics or CMAP software versions that might be the cause of a conflict..? :noway

Please note that the RDP139 and the RPU015 will not share any of the charting information as they are configured as different charting systems , they both need to run their own independent charts.

RPU-015 has 4.03 (1950002604.03) and RDP-139 has this number 1950001012.2

From what you say both units need their own chart cards but I can't seem to find any info of what type memory card the RDP-139 uses.

GeorgeZ,

The software on the RPU015/NT is at the most current version (V.4.03), and you can get an upgraded NT MAX chart from CMAP for this unit.

However, software (V.12.2) on the RDP139 apparently has not be upgraded since in was probably sold back in 2003. My recommendation is sending this unit to Furuno USA Inc. located in Camas, WA and have the unit's software upgraded to V.22. Then buy a NT Chart that is burned onto a FP Chip by CMAP for charting capability for RDP139.

If you are currently using the RDP139 for any type of Navigation, I highly recommend upgrading the unit's software...

CMAP's contact number is: 1-800-424-2627

Hope you will find this information helpful.

Deep Blue - :)
