Connecting a Garmin 441 to RDP 149

I want to use the Garmin 441 as the position source for the RDP 149 via either port 1 or 2 of the RDP. How should the connection be made? I have both the 7 pin and 6 pin pigtails for the RDP.
The setup I want to achieve is the Garmin feeding the position to a RDP at the nav station and network another RDP at the helm.

Thank you in advance for the help

Sorry for the late reply. I stumbled on the solution. The receive data wire for port 2 of the RDP needed to be connected to the same ground that the Garmin was using.

That sounds like the Garmin is using cheaper RS232 circuits on this unit and not the NMEA RS422 standard. Although it will work most of the time, we normally recommend a properly level converter (RS232/RS422) when interfacing devices of different NMEA levels.
