Greetings,
Getting ready to hook together a NAVnet2 149 and a Navnet2 148. Both are C map units. I have a network sounder on the 149 and a radome for the 148. The radome is a RSB-0071-058.

Information I need is what cable to use for the radome to the 148 and what connection to make between the 148 and 149 to be able to share everything.

Can't seem to find a diagram for the proper connections and want to be sure before I order the cables.

Thanks!
Chuck

The standard 15m radar scanner cable for that 7" radar scanner is part number 001-043-570.

When you connect three network items together (two display and sounder) you will need a network hub. The two displays and the sounder will need to connect to the hub. The radar will be a direct connection to your 7" display.

Thanks for your help, my local shop has a 001-043-560. Is that just the 10m cable?

Johnny,
Thanks for all your help. I only need about 3 meters of cable but seems the 15 meter is all I can find. I will order the signal cable, network cables and hub. Thanks again!!

Chuck

You can shorten the cable but do NOT go shorter than 5 meters or 15 feet, otherwise you will having timing problems that you can't adjust for.

Johnny,
I ordered the 001-043-570 but the end is not correct for my radome. The radome is a RSB-0071 and the last digits of the FCC# are 058. Where did I go wrong? Thanks for your help.

It think it was your supplier that went wrong. The part number you ordered is for your (RDP149) 7" display in which the dome was also designed. The dome can not work with the 10". If they gave you a 10" cable the connector will be wrong for you 7" unit. The connector should have a rectangle connector for the display end, not a round one.

The plug for the head unit is correct. The end that connects to the radome is what doesn't seem correct. The cable I have says it's for a 1722/C&NT ( 001-043-570). According to the vendor I have a 1734C because I am using the RSB-0071-058 radome. They are saying the correct cable is 008-523-130. I just want to make sure before I order another cable. Thanks for all your help, I love Furuno and would never buy anything else but the part numbers are difficult to figure out.

You said before you had the 10 meter 001-043-560, but it is really the 001-043-570 the 15 meter you have? Those part numbers and 008-523-130 all are older numbers. The current part number for the 10 meter scanner cable for the 1734C is 001-043-600. The older numbers should also work for you. The 1734C and the 1722C both at the scanner end should have a VH10 pin and a VH9 pin.

Johnny,
Maybe I'm loosing my mind...

I checked it again tonight and yes the cable has the VH10 and VH9 plugs and a ground. I did end up getting the 15m cable. However inside the radome I see where the VH9 plugs in but the only other available slot to plug anything in is a 4 pin slot right beside the VH9. There is no other place to plug in the VH10. There is a 10 pin slot but it already has a cable plugged in that goes to the other side of the radome board. Do I only need the VH9 for this radome? Thanks again!!

Looking more at an installation manual for the 1734C it shows a 9 pin, 13 pin and 4 pin connector. That looks more like what I have...I think.

Yes, I see now. The mistake was mine. I was looking at the wrong page of the installation manual. The cable has a VH9, VH4, and an NH13. The 10 meter is 001-043-600.
