Have a mfd12 3d and trying to have it communicate with my Raymarine spx-30 course computer, p70 controller autopilot. I cannot get nav data from mfd12 to auto pilot.
anyone with ideas.

Good morning MRRGY,

After looking at the SPX30 course computer it appears it can use a couple different kinds of data, SeaTalk NG and NMEA0183. I would try to interface the MFD12 and SPX30 using NMEA0183 first. The MFD12 has (3) NMEA0183 ports to send and receive data. If you have an available NMEA0183 port on the MFD12 I would wire that port to the NMEA0183 receive port on the SPX30 course computer. For this case this will be a (2) wire connection: (2) transmit wires from the MFD12 interfaced to the NMEA0183 receive port on the SPX30. Once the physical wires are interfaced you will need to turn on the appropriate NMEA0183 sentences that the SPX30 needs. Most autopilots require: GGA, RMB, ZDA, VTG, XTE. However, you could verify this with Raymarine. To turn on the NMEA0183 data sentences in the MFD12 you must access the Installation Wizard.
