Thanks for bringing this up. I meant to get back to this on another thread but never got back to it.
This is now a known issue/software bug that will be fixed in the next revisions of software. Firstly we recommend the units are fully cleared and setup after programming. "Units" settings should not be changed just prior to turn off, because the unit need time to sync the setting to other MFDs on the network. Lastly the most important, is some of the settings don’t seem to trigger the synchronization as it should. We have found that some other settings DO force the sync.
POSSIBLE SYNC/UPDATE ITEMS:
Range (Long)
Range (Short)
Depth
Temperature
Boat Speed
Wind Speed
Atmospheric Pressure
Oil Pressure
Volume
"CZone DIP Switch
(if CZone connected)"
ITEMS that will SYNC: which can be changed along with above items to force a proper update. (then can be changed back if needed):
Bearing Display
True Wind Calculation Reference
Position Format
Loran C Station & GRI
Short/Long Change over
Height/Length
Fish Size
Fish Weight
In summary until new software comes out, you can change an item in the second list (which will force an update) along with a needed item in the first list, to force the system to sync and update both settings properly. Then you can go back and change the item back from the second list, if you need to. Only the first list settings tend to be a problem for getting things to stick/store/sync. This will be fixed in the next release v3 for TZT3 and V8 for TZT2.
Hopefully I explained that so it is understandable. Ideally, once the units are successfully setup, they don't normally need to be changed. The issue was hard to pin down because many customers set up the units and it was working properly for them. It was finally figured out what was happening.
