MCU-004

Can the MCU-004 remote be mounted horizontally? Besides the labels being hard to read will it effect the operation of it? Thanks

Mounting orientation doesn't matter. If the issue is vertical space you could consider the MCU002 - it's not as tall as the MCU004 but it does lack some of the new features.

Vertical space is the issue. I thought about the MCU-002 but would like to get the 004 to work. Thanks.

The only problem I can foresee would be operating the joystick. With it mounted horizontally, pushing up would move the cursor sideways. Other than that you would just have to read the labels sideways.

I've had the MCU-002 installed for almost a year now. My twin TZT12F units are behind the console glass on my SeaVee. Honestly about the only thing I use the MCU-002 remote for is to zoom in/out and center the chart on my screen showing the chart and navigation info. while running. It's just so much easier to use the touchscreen when fishing or at rest that the remote doesn't get much use.
