Existing 3kW transducer or 526TID-HDD?

Hi,

I'm replacing my two Navnet VX2's with two new TZT2 12" MFD's. My existing DFF3 and 3kW transducer (unsure of model number) is still working. What are pros/cons to staying with the existing transducer vs. changing or adding a 526TID-HDD? The boat is a 36' Bertram. I mostly fish in 150 - 350 feet of water, but do want to see the bottom at 1500 feet when fishing for swordfish.

Also, will the power cord for the VX2 fit the TZTL12F?

Thanks!

The power cord for the 7" Vx2 will fit a TZT2. The 10.4" Vx2 power cord is too big. I would recommend asking the transducer question under the sounder topic area. I am sure Snips can give you some example photos. Although I love the B260 and it should work well with the TZT2 internal sounder; I doubt it will out do a 3Kw transducer in deep water, even if it is an older one.
