GPS not functioning

Hi again.
the GPS icon on the home page of my TZTL-12F is red. My actual location, which should show up on the chart, doesn't. I do not seem to be able to find any mention of GPS in the online manual other than to say that if the icon is red, the GPS is not functioning. any suggestions, please?

If you touch the satellite status icon, weather its red or green, then this will bring up what's called "Sky View." Sky view shows you how many satellites you are connected to and also where the satellites are in the sky.
Now if you don't get any satellites then either your GPS antenna does not have a clear view of the sky or the antenna may be damaged.
Most GPS units need at least 3 or 4 satellites in view before displaying a good "Fix" or location.

What GPS unit/antenna are you using with the TZTL12F?

thanks for that. I am using the internal antenna as I read somewhere that unless i am down below, it should be sufficient and the only thing between the unit and the satellites is a bit of canvas.
