My old NN3D MFD12 could be put into "sleep mode" to save power. A very useful function when sailing offshore and you don't need the chartplotter for constant navigation, but still you want to be able to have it back running within a secon or two if somethings comes up like using the radar or checking AIS.
I can't find that my new TZT14 has the same function..?

Power sync was discontinued after the NN3D but the sleep mode only turned off the LCD with everything working. You can just turn down your backlighting when not in use and have the same effect. Backlighting is one of the largest power draws of any MFD.
