InitialSetup/DataSource Reset

I'm thinking of selecting "Reset" on TZT14 Menu/InitialSetup/DataSource but want to understand the possible side effects first. I've recently upgraded a NMEA2000 device on my boat. The "preferred" data source is still listed as the old device even though it is gone and the new device is not listed as an option for preferred although it is listed as the "current" device.

Is there any reason I shouldn't select "Reset" to correct this situation?

You wont hurt anything by doing the reset but if the device is showing as "Current" it is already seen by the system. You should just pull down the preferred and change it to the new item.

Just to close the loop on this, after a few days the old device stopped appearing and the new device is the only option for "preferred".
