MF/HF SSB RADIO

MF/HF SSB RADIO

Postby Georgi » Wed Feb 28, 2018 6:36 am

HI GENTS,

We have received full MF/HF radio set, but it is different type from the old one.
The ssb radio on board vessel is FURUNO RADIOTELEPHONE FS1570 WITH CONTROL UNIT FS-2571C AND TRANSCEIVER UNIT TYPE FS-1570T.
The NEW ssb radiotelephone is furuno FS-1575 with control unit type FS-2575C and transceiver unit type FS-1575T.
Is the above two radios are compatible each other and their connections or not at all ?
For example: Can we replace the transceiver unit FS-1570T with new one FS-1575T or their parameters and connections are not the same?

Do you have any information about that?
Could you please let me know!

Thank you in advance!

Hi Georgi,

The components are not compatible, you will need to change the controller, transceiver and coupler. The antenna, and cables from the transceiver to the coupler are compatible and can be reused. The cable from the controler to the transceiver will need replaced.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt reply on this topic.
I'm thinking that it will be very helpful for everyone member.

Gents
In your opinions, what can be the possible cause of controller (FS-2571C) led indicator flashes and therefore its display is not responding?
The power supply to the transceiver FS-1570T is present and steady, but the controller led indication only blinks and goes off / all the time after switching on the unit.

How the master reset of the ssb radio can be performed? Is it by pressing the reset switch S1" into the transceiver unit?
Is the system ground connections can affect the controller operation?

Any suggestions . . .
