FS 2570c

FS 2570c

Postby Martijn » Wed Jul 05, 2017 11:32 am

Hi,

After a selftest the FS 2570c SSB radiotelephone was switched off automatically after an error (sorry I can not recall the error).
When starting up with the power button the screen shows "NOW INITIALIZING . . ."
Nothing else happens. Looks like the system got stuck at some startup point.
I have tried to unplug the power and restart the entire system, but same thing happens over and over.

Any suggestions?

Martijn,

See if you can open up the transceiver and remove lid over PA, and the other PCBs.

Check to see for any burning on the Regulator or PA Boards. Normally the display should boot-up completely, even with unit that has transceiver problems. But it seems I have seen this problem before, And if I recall correctly, I believe that a burnt board was the culprit.

Other than that, you can check for T-I/F Board (05P0731) for any problems. If you can remove this PCB and check it completely for bad components on the bottom.

If all else fails he can send the unit it in for service.

Hope this helps

Needed service for this issue.
For some unknown reason PCB was locked. By disconnecting 15V output and reconnecting this plug, system came back to life. (Unplugging the unit from 220V and 24V backup was not sufficient for the reset).

Maybe this helps others in the future.
