FI70 not displaying TWD (ground wind) using Airmar 200WX

Have a system with 8 FI70's, 1 DT800 and a 200WX. It seems only apparent wind information is available. The system is interfaced with a N2K/0183 adapter to receive heading from a STD22 gyro which is working. Is there something missing from this system to get TWD? Any information would help, Thank you.

As long as you are setup for Ground wind, from what I read; you would require boat movement (speed). Have you tried it while moving the boat?

Thank you for the information! Yes we have tried it while the yacht was underway and it did not work. We delved into it further last night.

The system is getting true heading HDT from a STD22 gyro and water speed VBW from a DS80 doppler log via a Actisense NDC-4 then input to a Actisense NGW-1. The heading info displays fine in the system, however the water speed is not displaying (STW) and we think this is the problem. Although the Actisense NGW-1 does convert the VBW sentence into a PGN (130578) it is not accepted by the FI-70.

So now we are looking into a VBW to VHW converter, which are expensive.

Any and all thoughts or suggestions are most appreciated!

Kind Regards,

200WX data sheet claims it calculates true wind speed and angle.
200WX should transmits PGN 130306 - Wind Data and FI70 can read it.

WeatherCaster Software also can't see True Wind?

P.S.
Is yours 200WX a N0183 or N2000 version?
