Furuno PG500

Furuno PG500

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my pg500.It seems that i cannot receive the data on my PC (navigation software).I use the db9 connector with the rs232 in my pc.
Any advise will be much appreciated.Thanks in advance.

The PG500 doesn't have an RS232 output. What converter are you using?

hi Johnny..thanks for the reply..i dont use any converter..should i use?what kind of converter that i should use by the way?..Thanks in advance..

I could recommend this...

and use the USB connection on the PC. Many newer PCs wont have the older serial ports so this way you are already setup for when the PC has to be replaced. If you really want to keep using the older DB9 serial, there are tons of them on the market. Actisense/Brookhouse/Noland Engineering all make good RS422 to RS232 converters.
