Suzuki OB to an RD-33

Hello to the Board. I am a new used and just pick up an RD-33 and need advice on the proper cable to connect it to a 2015 Suzuki 140hp outboard motor. The cable I have found on line is for a Suzuki to nmea 2000 (part #990C0-88149). I know you can`t tell if the part number is correct but do I need any additional connecters for it. Thanks Rob

NMEA 2000 items requires a suitable bus to allow everything to interconnect. You can't just connect two NMEA 2000 items directly together.

I recommend you review some basic NMEA 2000 information before building your bus.

Thanks Johnny I should have supplied more info. I have set
up a nmea 2000 can bus for a depth finder with a Furuno rd33. I have ordered the cable to connect the engine to the network. It has already been programmed. My question is, Does the power for the bus come from the engine after it is connected to the bus or do I keep the power for the bus on the fuse that I ran to switched power from the helm?

Your NMEA 2000 bus power should be unchanged.
