Nav pilot 500 question

I've been working through some issues with the rudder sensor on my nav pilot and think I finally solved them by doing a re-boot/memory clear. But now I can't get it to talk to the satellite compass...any thoughts? I've set it up in dockside settings/compass to "other" baud rate 4800. The compass is an sc-50.
Thanks, Tim

Tim,

Try setting the baud rate to 38400 bps, and check the NAVPILOT port monitor to see if you have any data coming in from the SC-50.

Too easy, I knew it had to be something simple like that. I just assumed that the baud rate on the compass had to match the pilot. We'll sea trial it tomorrow but all looks good now at the dock.
Thanks Deep Blue

Tim,

The baud rate for the NAVPILOT PG500 is 4800 bps. However, the baud rate for the SC50 Satellite Compass is 38,400 bps. When you performed a Memory Clear of the NAVPILOT 500, it defaulted back to the PG500 baud rate.

Glad its working now.
