Furuno NavPilot 500 Control Unit Swap Question

Can the FAP5011A be used as a primary control unit on NavPilot 500 systems? Both of our MU120C monitors have been having intermittent issues and we've replaced them oncebefore with refurbs but we decided to upgrade to newer 15" monitors.The 15" monitors wont install cleanly without either modifying our current controls layout or cutting in the and modifying the console to make them fit. If we can just replace the FAP5001A control unit with the FAP5011A control unit we would just need to do some minor fiberglass work to the console to patch the old hole for the smaller new mounting hole. Yes, you can replace the FAP5001 with the FAP5011 control head.
