It would be nice to make any point the center of the anchor alarm setting.
The way it currently works, one needs to go through a number of menu steps at the exact time of dropping the hook, to have an anchor alarm 360 degrees around your anchor. If you forget to do this, there is no easy way to set it above the anchor once you have dropped back on the chain.
Much better would be to mark a point and later set it as the anchor alarm center. That way you can even create it later when you know how far ahead your anchor is.
