FCV 588 with Airmar TM260

Hi

Will the Rez Boost function work if using an Airmar TM260 1kW transducer with the FCV 588.
I see lots of places selling these as a recommended combination so I would assume that it should work but all the fact sheets seem to specify the 526TID-HDD as the only 1kW transducer that is compatible for Rez Boozt and Bottom Discrimination

Cheers and Beers

Only two 1 kW transducers have been tested for RezBoost/Bottom Discrimination and they are the Furuno rubber coated model (chest, housing, or tank mount):

and the Airmar you mentioned: 526TID-HDD (bronze thru-hull mount with high speed fairing block)

G'day Titanic,
Thank you for the confirmation much appreciated, I had hoped to try and select the 56TID-HDD in the menu and see whether the Sounder would function in Rez Boost mode, the beam angle is close at 50kHZ/200kHZ - 19/6 degrees vs the 562TID-HDD at 20/6 degrees. But that 1 degree difference would most likely it incompatible, lot of complex math involved in Rez Boost I'd imagine .
Cheers

Furuno Rez Boost, ACCU-Fish, and Bottom Discrimination features all run off an algorithm that is based on sampling from specific High and Low Frequency elements within certain manufactured transducers.

That's the reason why if you want these features, you have to make a selection on certain transducers that have that capability, and the TM260 does have the same elements that the 562TID-HDD has.
