DFF-1 with B45 Transducer 50/200 45/12 Degree

Here is a picture from the DFF-1 with the B45 taken at Georges Bank. Marking tuna very good on the low side. Missing some on the high. This is the unit/transducer I want to upgrade to wider angle on both frequencies.DSC_1022.jpg


The second photo is from the FCV 1150 with the R209 taken on the same trip. This is just marking bait. I believe I had the frequencies set at 40khz on the low and 160khz on the high.photo[1].JPG This is a fantastic machine and transducer combination. Marks bottom, bait, and thermoclines very well. I am curious to understand what parameters are changed when the unit is in the Squid transmit mode?

Still trying to decide what would compliment the FCV 1150 better. The DFF-1 with a 556TID-HWD or the B275 with a DFF1-UHD or DFF-3

With the B275 connected to the DFF-3 what is the frequency range? The DFF-3 manual specifies 28-200 kHz for the unit but I am not sure what the transducer will accept. My guess, based on the CHIRP Specs, is 45-62 on the low and 150-200 on the high.

Thanks for the screen shots. One suggestion is on the 1150, next time out try using 1/1 screen advance rate and a Short 1 pulse length for better target discrimination. If you go with a B-275/DFF3 combination I would set the LF at 50Khz with a band width of 25Khz. This will let you slew the frequency from 37.5-62.5Khz. While the stated HF frequency range of the B-275 is 150-250Khz I thinks is works better a little lower, maybe 130Khz. I would try setting the HF for 170Khz with a band width of 85Khz. This will let you slew the frequency from 127.5- 212.5Khz.
